Abstract

The significance of bioethics in a developing country like Nigeria is the major focus of this study. Its relevance cannot be over emphasised. Bioethics put checks and balances into human conduct in medical research. This is necessary in a developing country (such as Nigeria) where socioeconomic factors may play a significant role in downplaying some of the principles supported by bioethics. Deliberate efforts like intentional introduction of bioethics at all levels of medical practice and research in Nigeria must be put in place to circumvent anarchy in medical profession
