Scholars in social and management sciences in different countries of the world are interested in establishing the influence of staff training and development cost on organisational productivity. This reviewed work takes a global overview of related studies from 2015 – 2022; and it covers conceptual and theoretical frameworks as well as empirical reviews (along trend, thematic, and methodological dimensions). The study established that staff training and development have significant positive impacts on organisational productivity. Two critical areas for further studies identified from reviewed works are the need for more robust quantitative study with real financial data and advanced statistical analysis techniques like smart-partial least square, multivariate-general linear model and others.
